Summer is almost here…

So this past month I had a show in the West Seattle Art Walk a spot basically across the street and a half block down. I showed some of my silhouette pieces there and also look to be having the same series in a show next January and February in a gallery in Georgetown.

I’m excited to start showing and especially excited to be in some events this summer. The following ones I’ve been accepted into so far are these ones here (One not yet pictured is the Alki art Festival which I was accepted into their emerging artist program):

Last weekend I attended the Urban Craft Uprising Thundercamp on Vashon Island. They hold a bunch of workshops for artists interested in the vending scene to learn more on running business to how to up your applications for these types of events. Attending really gave me some really good tips going forward and today I ordered signage for my event pop-up tent. I know this summer is going to be a little overwhelming, I’m hoping to focus on learning what sells and what to focus on as well as learn how to fine tune things and get into bigger shows so I can do quality shows vs quantity of shows. Certainly with a day job this may be a bit of extra work and I’m a little worried I may burn out but the idea is to sell out a lot of my stock and see what does well and what I need to maybe cut back on. I love the idea of making some good money off my work but I also don’t want to burn out as I love making things. Stay tuned as soon I plan on revamping my site!
